The Apocalypse is one the most mysterious and popular books in Christianity. In Byzantine-Russian art the subject of Apocalypse was seldom used. In Russia the most significant monument of art on this subject is mural painting in the Trinity Cathedral in Pereslavl-Zalessky which was executed pending the end of the world (1662-1668).
