NIAGARA PARKS BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY
Niagara Falls, Ontario,1998

Apropos Planning developed the introductory exhibits for the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory – Niagara's "newest natural wonder." The exhibit invites visitors to match butterflies to their larvae, follow the migratory route of Monarch butterflies month by month, and investigate microscopic features of butterflies.

Children love the hand-held butterflies whose facetted lenses let them see the world as a butterfly sees it.

This family is trying to find a few moths among the butterflies.

Since its opening in 1996, the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory has continued to attract over half a million visitors each year.

Young and old visitors alike enjoy a display of butterflies in human culture – from stamps to kites to fabrics and ceramics.
