FOUNDERS HALL
Charlottetown, PEI, 2001

Founders’ Hall brings Canada’s political history to life with a modern, irreverent twist.

When asked to interpret the birth of confederation, Apropos Planning proposed an audio-visual odyssey through the founding conference and its aftermath right up to today. Apropos Planning developed the overall visitor experience, storyline and exhibit plan, oversaw all research, co-wrote scripts, wrote the text and served as the linchpin of the creative team from 1998 to 2001.

Client: Kadoke Exhibition Services, Capital Commission of Prince Edward Island
Collaborators: Oulton & Devine, Janis Nostbakken, Smith & Smith Productions, TV Factory, Androcom Interactive Technologies

A state of the art audio-visual tour with a virtual journalist guide is just one of the many interpretive techniques used in Founders’ Hall to make the story relevant to today’s audiences.

Humour is a key element in Founders’ Hall – a way to make a dry story appealing.

Apropos Planning oversaw all the research and worked with a national committee of eminent historians to ensure that historical accuracy was never compromised.
