GATINEAU PARK VISITOR CENTRE
Old Chelsea, Quebec 1998

Apropos Planning developed the interpretive plan and exhibits for this visitor centre north of Ottawa. We introduced the park from the point of view of a cyclist, a cross-country skier, a hiker and a driver/picknicker. This approach allowed us to present the park through the four seasons, while at the same time showcasing the recreational opportunities Gatineau Park offers.

Mounted animal specimens in their habitat and photographic scrims add colour and interest to this exhibit.

Exhibit units for each outdoor activity give visitors ideas for how they can use the park. Beautiful photos provide inspiration to visit and explore.

After consulting market research on Korean tastes, Canada used an animal mascot in its Pavilion.
